Something feels off, but you can't quite name it. Not dramatic enough for the doctor, not subtle enough to ignore.

This guide helps you start noticing the pattern — energy, mood, sleep, symptoms so your body's story finally makes sense. No overwhelm, no long checklists. Just clarity.

Your Free Guide Is Here | Hormone Health with Marie

The pattern you've been trying to put into words?

It's in here.

You've just taken the first step most women skip — actually naming what's going on with your hormones instead of pushing through it.

This guide breaks down the key hormone-related conditions that affect mood — PMOS, PMDD, perimenopause, and the cycle-related mental health patterns that connect them — so you can start recognising your own pattern instead of wondering if it's "just you."

10 Endometriosis Symptoms Doctors Often Miss

Endometriosis symptoms often get missed because they don't always look like "just period pain." Bowel changes, fatigue, bladder symptoms, and pain that shows up outside your period are all part of the picture — and they're frequently dismissed, misdiagnosed as IBS, or put down to stress. Here are 10 signs worth paying attention to.

1. Pain that isn't confined to your period Endometriosis pain can show up mid-cycle, during ovulation, or as a constant low-level ache — not just during your bleed.

2. Bowel changes that get labelled "IBS" Bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, and painful bowel movements are common with endometriosis, especially around your period. Many women are told it's IBS for years before endometriosis is considered.

3. Pain during or after sex Deep pain during or after intercourse (dyspareunia) is one of the more commonly reported — and more commonly minimised — symptoms.

4. Bladder pain or recurrent UTIs Endometriosis can affect the bladder and surrounding tissue, leading to pain or infection-like symptoms that don't always show up on a urine test.

5. Fatigue that doesn't match your sleep Chronic inflammation may contribute to a level of exhaustion that rest alone doesn't fix — often dismissed as "just tired."

6. Lower back or leg pain Pain can radiate beyond the pelvis, showing up as lower back ache or referred pain down the leg, particularly around your period.

7. Heavy or irregular bleeding Some women experience heavier, longer, or less predictable periods alongside the pain — another symptom often treated in isolation.

8. Pain with no visible cause on a scan A "normal" ultrasound doesn't rule out endometriosis — it's frequently missed on standard imaging, which is part of why diagnosis takes so long.

9. Difficulty conceiving Endometriosis is associated with fertility difficulty in a meaningful proportion of cases, though many women conceive naturally, especially with the right support.

10. Pain that's dismissed as "normal period pain" Perhaps the most common missed symptom of all — being told what you're experiencing is simply a normal period, when it isn't.

If several of these sound familiar, that's information worth taking seriously — not a checklist to self-diagnose from, but a starting point for a proper conversation. As a registered medical herbalist who works with women navigating this pattern in clinic every week, I see how long it can take for these symptoms to be joined up and taken seriously.

FAQ

Is it normal to have endometriosis symptoms without a diagnosis? Yes — average diagnosis delay is commonly reported as several years, partly because symptoms are dismissed or misattributed to other conditions like IBS.

Can you have endometriosis with a normal scan result? Yes. Endometriosis is frequently missed on standard ultrasound, particularly smaller or more diffuse lesions — a normal scan doesn't rule it out.

Does endometriosis always cause severe pain? No. Symptom severity doesn't always match how much tissue is present — some women with extensive endometriosis have mild symptoms, and vice versa.
