Focused clinical herbal consultations for anxiety, thyroid health, adrenal fatigue, and perimenopausal transitions
Anxiety rarely exists in isolation. For many women, persistent anxiety, heightened stress response, and nervous system overload are rooted in physiological imbalance — not simply a mental health issue.
Disrupted cortisol rhythms, thyroid dysfunction, fluctuating oestrogen and progesterone, blood sugar instability, and poor sleep architecture can all drive or worsen anxiety. In my clinic, I regularly see women who have been managing anxiety for years through talking therapies or medication, with partial relief — because the physiological root hasn't been identified or addressed.
In a Connected Support consultation, the focus is on identifying those drivers and addressing them with a personalised, evidence-informed herbal protocol — one built around your specific physiology, not a generic anxiety formula.
The thyroid is central to how every cell in the body functions — regulating metabolism, energy production, body temperature, mood, and hormonal balance. When thyroid function is disrupted, the effects are felt across the whole system.
Many women experience subclinical thyroid imbalance — where standard blood markers appear within range, but symptoms persist. This is one of the most common presentations I see in clinic, and one of the most frustrating for the women experiencing it. Being told your results are "normal" when you feel anything but is not a clinical answer — it is the starting point for a deeper investigation.
Herbal medicine, prescribed within a structured clinical framework, can offer meaningful support in these cases, as well as for those with diagnosed hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, or post-thyroid treatment recovery. Consultations include a review of relevant pathology results and an assessment of the broader hormonal picture — because thyroid function does not exist independently of oestrogen, cortisol, or gut health.
Adrenal fatigue — more accurately described as HPA axis dysregulation — occurs when prolonged or chronic stress disrupts the body's ability to regulate cortisol effectively. The result is a pattern of exhaustion that sleep doesn't resolve, poor stress tolerance, and a body that feels permanently in a state of either overdrive or flat depletion.
This is particularly common in women navigating high demands — career, family, hormonal transitions — often alongside underlying hormonal imbalance that amplifies the adrenal load. In clinical practice, I find that adrenal dysregulation is rarely the only thing going on: it almost always intersects with thyroid function, oestrogen dominance, or disrupted sleep architecture. Treating it in isolation rarely produces lasting results.
Clinical herbal medicine, particularly adaptogenic herbs with a well-established history of supporting stress-response regulation, is well-suited to adrenal recovery. A personalised formulation is prescribed based on your individual pattern — not a generic protocol.
A focused 60-minute clinical consultation — structured, thorough, and tailored entirely to you.
We begin with a thorough review of your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and any relevant test results. Nothing is treated in isolation — the aim is to build a complete picture of what's driving your presenting concerns. In my experience, the connections between systems are where the real clinical picture emerges.
If you have existing blood test results — thyroid panels, hormone profiles, iron, B12, or other markers — these are reviewed and interpreted within your clinical context, not just compared to standard reference ranges.
A bespoke herbal prescription is prepared for you based on the consultation. This may include tinctures, teas, or other preparations — selected specifically for your needs, not a standard formula.
You leave with a clear, written plan — what you're taking, why, and what to expect. Follow-up recommendations are provided so you know exactly what the next steps look like.
Standalone consultations are separate from the Reclaim Method™ programme and are suited to women seeking focused clinical support for a specific concern.

Anxiety & Nervous System
Yes. Clinical herbal medicine has a well-established, evidence-informed history of supporting anxiety and nervous system regulation. In a consultation, I assess the underlying drivers of your anxiety — whether related to stress physiology, adrenal dysregulation, hormonal fluctuation, or sleep disruption — and prescribe a personalised formulation to address root causes rather than mask symptoms.
In many cases, yes — but this must always be assessed individually. During your consultation, I review all current medications to check for any interactions before prescribing. Herbal medicine is designed to complement, not conflict with, conventional care. If you are on prescribed medication for anxiety, please disclose this at the time of booking.
This varies between individuals and depends on the underlying cause. Some women notice a shift within two to four weeks. For more complex or long-standing anxiety rooted in hormonal or adrenal imbalance, meaningful change typically becomes apparent over eight to twelve weeks. Herbal medicine works with your physiology — results are gradual and sustainable rather than immediate and short-lived.
Thyroid Support
Herbal medicine can play a meaningful supportive role in thyroid health, particularly where subclinical imbalance, autoimmune thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto's, or metabolic disruption are present. Consultations include a review of your pathology results and an assessment of the broader hormonal picture — because thyroid function is closely connected to oestrogen levels, cortisol, gut health, and nutrient status.
Yes — and this is one of the most common presentations in my practice. Standard reference ranges for thyroid markers are broad. Many women experience significant symptoms with TSH or T4 levels that fall within range but are not optimal for them individually. I look at the full picture, not just the number on a lab report.
In most cases, yes. Herbal prescriptions are carefully selected to complement rather than interfere with thyroid medication. I review your current prescription at consultation and ensure your herbal formulation is safe and appropriate. Any changes to thyroid medication should always be discussed with your GP or endocrinologist.
Adrenal Fatigue & General
Adrenal fatigue — more accurately described as HPA axis dysregulation — occurs when chronic stress disrupts the body's cortisol regulation, leading to persistent exhaustion, poor stress tolerance, and disrupted sleep. Adaptogenic herbs have a strong clinical and historical tradition of supporting adrenal recovery and restoring stress-response capacity. A personalised herbal protocol is far more effective than a generic approach.
A Connected Support session is a 60-minute focused clinical consultation that includes a detailed case history, review of relevant pathology where applicable, a personalised herbal formulation, and a clear written treatment plan with follow-up recommendations. Sessions are available online across the UK and in-person in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.
A Connected Support consultation is priced at £120–£170 for a 60-minute session. Full payment is required at booking. For women who need more in-depth, ongoing support, the Reclaim Method™ 3-month programme is available at £1,500 (or three instalments of £550).
